About Us

Afterburn Investigations, LLC was founded by Timothy S. Delaney, a Certified Fire Investigator. Mr. Delaney has more than 35 years of experience in the fire service, including 6 years as a structural firefighter and 30 years consulting as a full-time private fire and explosion forensic investigator.

Mr. Delaney is formally educated through degree programs in fire science, fire protection and safety studies. He keeps current of new trends, research, and technologies affecting the fire & explosion industry by attending professional seminars.  He has broadened his depth of knowledge outside the fire & explosion field by becoming certified as a gas heating technician, a certified oil heating technician and trained as a journeyman electrician.

Mr. Delaney has qualified as a fire origin and cause investigation expert in state and federal jurisdictions. He has provided expert testimony during arbitrations, mediations, hearings, depositions and trials.
